A really good beach visit with a dog and not too far from London is Camber Sands on the border of Kent and East Sussex. Seven miles of gorgeous sandy beach and proper sand dunes.
Salts Farm Shop
It’s definitely worth stopping at Salts Farm Shop before you head home for free range meat, yoghurts, cheese, honey and their handmade ice cream made with 100% natural ingredients. The shop is on a generations old family sheep farm and is just opposite the main turnoff towards Camber Sands.
Rye village is really close by and has quaint narrow streets with lots of boutiques, restaurants and antique shops. Rye also has its own castle built in 1249.
We found a dog friendly pub at The Ship Inn, which is very relaxed with good food – They do great Scotch Duck Eggs. It gets really busy, so book ahead.

If you love hot chocolate or a really good coffee then you will love Knoops in Tower Forge. They have a really extensive hot chocolate menu where you can choose from cocoa up to 90% then select from all sorts of extras like lavender, chilli, cinnamon or lemon peel.
